Definition, Example, Classification: Having the standard chemical formula Cx(H2O)y, a carbohydrate is a naturally occurring substance or a derivative of one, made composed of molecules of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). The most prevalent organic compound is a carbohydrate, and all life depends on them.

Why we need carbs in out diet: When we eat carbohydrates, we provide our body with fuel (energy) to function at every physiological level. Our digestive system breaks down carbohydrates into glucose (blood sugar), which feeds energy to our cells, tissues, and organs. Energy not utilized immediately is stored in our muscles and liver where our body uses it on an as-needed basis. Without adequate carbohydrate consumption, our body may experience feeling tired, headache, lethargic and unable to push through a workout.




Types of carbohydrates: monosaccharides, disaccharide, polysaccharides.

Nowadays, teenagers are increasingly turning to unhealthy diets to loose or gain weight and build muscles, ignoring the importance of balance daily meals.






Why we started this PBL because teenagers nowadays use dieting in the wrong way for example they just use it to loose or gain weight in a wrong way like they don’t eat anything just to loose weight or they try to eat alot to gain weight.

Structure of water: A water molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The three atoms make an angle.

Properties of water: water is highly cohesive and adhesive, water has high surface tension, water has high specific heat, water is universal solvent, water has the property of capillary action.

Importance of water: its essential to be keeping your body functioning properly and feeling healthy. nearly all of our bodies major systems depend on water to function and survive. with water making up about 60 percent of your body weight, its no surprise what staying hydrated can do for you.
